About SGTB College of Education

Shri Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education, Seh-ke (Malerkotla) came into existence in the year 2006 with the mission to pursue excellence in the field of education. The Prime motto and objective of the college is to impart Quality Education to the students and to produce the skill teachers as well as better citizens of the country. This college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, approved by NCTE, Jaipur and accredited by NAAC Grade ‘B’.


SGTB College of Education is situated in the rural area. It is located in a pollution free environment 6 miles away in the East of Malerkotla city, Distt. Sangrur, Punjab. It has double story V-Shaped building having all facilities. Grassy Lawns & flower buds increase the panorama of the college. The serpentine roads from Khanpur, Ranwan, Mohorana & Upoki leads to this college campus.


History of the college - Shri Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education was established by Guru Teg Bahadur Educational Trust, SEH-KE in 2006. It is working under the diligent and dynamic leadership of S. Hardev Singh Seh-ke, Chairman of the institution with farsighted vision to make this institution as one of the centers of excellence in teacher education based on Philosophy of Sikh Gurus, Indian Vedic Culture coupled with modernity and to build co-competencies among prospective teachers to meet the challenges of education in global scenario by imbibing human and spiritual values amongst them. Ever since its inception, it is progressing day by day.


The college is located amidst lush green surrounding seven kms. from Malerkotla on the right side of Malerkotla- Khanna Road. The college is recognized by NCTE Jaipur and is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. The campus is spread over an area of 5 acres in a quite, peaceful and pollution free environment. The college has 200 seats for B.Ed and 25 seats for MA Education. The college promises to educate students for competence, conscience and compassion.


Ever since its inception, S.G.T.B. College of Education has played an important role in educational and social development of the region. The college has been successful in nurturing the rich heritage and legacy of Punjab which has excelled in imparting education in all streams and produced able and responsible teachers.
